For over 50 years, we have supported young Canadians through training and competition in track and field. The Legion Nationals are the country’s premier and only nationwide competition for U16 and U18 athletes. Be a part of it!
The Royal Canadian Legion is all about supporting youth leadership and getting young people involved in building stronger communities and keeping the tradition of Remembrance alive. Through sports, the Legion helps empower the next generation and shape the future of Canada.
The Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships are Canada’s only track and field championships for the under-16 and under-18 categories. The Royal Canadian Legion is in its 48th year hosting Legion Nationals where over 1000 young athletes compete for Canadian championship medals.
Through our commitment to supporting youth leadership and sports, the Legion is helping strengthen the next generation of leaders. The event will take place in Regina in 2026 and 2027.
There are two streams in which an athlete can attend Legion Nationals:
Attendance for the Provincial Legion Teams is mandatory from August 5 through 11, 2026 with the Track and Field Meet taking place August 7 through 9, 2026. The technical manual (to be available in the late winter / early spring of 2026) will offer further information on the selection process and entry standards.
