Thank you to everyone who joined us in Winnipeg for The Royal Canadian Legion’s 50th Dominion Convention.
Together, Delegates, Observers, members, guests, volunteers and partners helped make this Centenary Convention a memorable occasion—one that celebrated 100 years of service while helping shape the Legion’s future.
We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the Convention and to the continued strength and service of The Royal Canadian Legion.
The next Dominion Convention will take place from August 23-26, 2028, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
What is Dominion Convention?
Every Dominion Convention provides us with an opportunity to reconnect, share and build on the strength of our community.
The Dominion Convention of The Royal Canadian Legion is a significant event held every two years. Legion members from across Canada and abroad gather to discuss key issues, set priorities, and make decisions about the organization's future. It also allows Legion members across the country to meet, share ideas, and learn.
How Does Dominion Convention work?
Dominion Conventions align the organization and set the direction for the years ahead.
The Royal Canadian Legion's governing assembly meets at each Dominion Convention. Delegates discuss policies, past resolutions, and vote on matters affecting Veterans, the Legion, and its future.
Delegates from Canada and abroad provide strong representation.
Convention delegates include representatives from Branches, Provincial Commands, and national levels.
Key issues for Veterans and the Legion are discussed and voted on.
Key discussions focus on Veterans' advocacy and services, and program funding, and membership. The resolutions passed may influence policies on Veteran care, Remembrance initiatives, the Legion's community involvement, and organizational policies and programs.
Elections take place at each Convention.
Leadership elections take place during the convention to select the Senior Elected Officers, including the Dominion President.
Location of the Dominion Convention
The convention location rotates between cities across Canada.
Legion Legacy and Volunteerism are celebrated
The event celebrates the Legion's history and ongoing efforts to promote Remembrance, support Veterans, and strengthen communities.
