OTTAWA, ON, JANUARY 12TH 2016 – Every year, between the months of January and March, Legion branches across this country accept applications from students seeking financial assistance as they pursue a post-secondary education.
“Our Members recognize the importance of education,” says Dominion President of The Royal Canadian Legion Tom Eagles. “As a result, the Legion has decided to help students with financing their post-secondary studies through the granting of annual bursaries,” adds Eagles.
Circumstances may differ from one Legion branch to another and the actual amount of the bursaries may also vary between Legion branches but if students qualify, they could be the recipient of financial assistance that may make the difference.
In addition to bursaries, scholarships from Legion branches may also be made available in recognition of the applicant’s scholastic achievement(s).
Visit your local Legion branch to get more information on how to apply for financial assistance through either a bursary or a scholarship award.
