Legion encourages Canada's youth to get a good education through its bursary and scholarship programs
OTTAWA, ON, December 10th 2014 – During the year, Legion Branches across the country provide tens of thousands of dollars to students who wish to attend post-secondary institutions.
“Our Members recognize the need for a post-secondary education to prosper and they believe that our young people are the leaders of tomorrow,” says Dominion President of The Royal Canadian Legion Tom Eagles. “As a result, they have decided to help them with partial financing of a post-secondary education through the granting of annual bursaries,” adds Eagles.
Circumstances may vary from one Legion Branch to another and the actual amount of the bursaries may vary between Legion Branches but if a student qualifies they could be the recipient of financial assistance that may make the difference. Scholarships, in varying amounts, may also be made available as a result of the applicant’s scholastic achievement(s).
All Legion bursaries and scholarships are administered by the local Legion Branch and you should contact the Legion Branch in your area for further information or assistance.
