Jill Carleton
Dominion Treasurer
Jill Carleton is a member of Branch 244 in Perth, Ontario, and has previously served on Dominion Command committees including Veterans Services and Seniors (VSS), and Going Forward.
- Was a volunteer founder and member of the Legion’s OSI (Operational Stress Injury) Special Section and served as its President from 2019-2021. She is currently its Past President.
- Served on the Executive of the Legion’s Osgoode Branch #589 in Ottawa.
- Served close to 22 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Naval Logistics Officer, including postings to HMCS Preserver and as Logistics Officer of HMCS Terra Nova. Was medically released in 2005.
- Appointed to the Federal Public Service and worked in various roles such as strategic planning, governance, and workplace wellness at the Department of National Defence.
- Community volunteer work has included being a Veteran representative on the Veterans Affairs Canada Mental Health Treatment Review Committee, Past Chair of the Royal Military Colleges of Canada Alumni Association and current Chair of its Audit Committee; she is currently an Advisor (Mentor) for The Burns Way, among other community group commitments.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and commerce, and a master’s in business administration, as well as the CPA, CMA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation among other educational achievements.
- Completed Peer Support Training from the Mood Disorders Society of Canada and from Mental Health Innovations.
- Volunteered as a soccer team manager for many years, and previously volunteered at her sons’ school; is a military parent of two sons, one serving in the Canadian Army, the other in the Royal Canadian Navy.
- A native of Montreal, Quebec, has lived in various Canadian cities and recently moved to Perth, Ontario.
