Garry Pond is a member of Capt. A. Roy Brown Branch #192 in Carleton Place, Ontario. He is Chair of the Dominion Command Sports Committee and a member of other Dominion Command Committees including Veterans Services and Seniors, the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League, Centenary, Going Forward and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).

  • Energetic Legion member for over 35 years. 
  • Current Chair of the Ontario Command Provincial Property Committee, and of the Homeless Veterans Program.
  • Immediate Past President of Ontario Command and served in various other roles over the years, including Branch President, and Zone and District Commander. Past member of the Dominion Command Membership Committee.
  • Served over 23 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, retiring from the Regular Force as a Master Warrant Officer. 
  • Later served as a consultant for the Department of National Defence in Ottawa for another 23 years, retiring in 2018.
  • Recipient of the Canadian Forces’ Decoration, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers.
  • An honours student in earlier years, has university credits from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Brandon University and The University of New Brunswick.
  • Married to Linda – his biggest fan. They love to travel, hike and spend time outdoors. They have a daughter Rhonda and enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren. They call Eastern Ontario home.
