The Royal Canadian Legion’s major governing forum is its biennual Dominion Convention. All members of the organization are represented by delegates who vote on resolutions and determine national policies as well as the organization’s overall direction. The “Committee Reports and Resolutions” document, which contains the proposed national resolutions, is provided to every Branch for review prior to the Convention.
The election of the Dominion President and members of the Senior Elected Officers, positions held for two years, is conducted at Dominion Convention.
After Convention, a “Convention Report and Proceedings” document, identifying the resolutions that have been passed, is made available to every Branch. The document is also shared with government departments for their review and feedback. A summary “Comments on Resolutions” document is later produced.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update for 48th Dominion Convention
March 11, 2020: As the situation around the Coronvirus evolves, we are developing preparedness plans to address the potential operational impact on Convention. We are paying close attention to direction from the Public Health Agency of Canada, as well as monitoring provincial and international health agencies for updates. At this time, the Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for Canada. The 48th Dominion Convention in Saskatoon, SK is taking place as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and reassess as new information becomes available.
