OTTAWA, ON, April 20th 2015 – Between June 2015 and June 2016, The Royal Canadian Legion will be celebrating its 90th anniversary.
“The Royal Canadian Legion was formed as a result of the inspiration provided by 61 dedicated delegates who attended a Unity Conference held at the Marlborough Hotel in Winnipeg, MB from 25th to 28th November 1925,” says Dominion President of The Royal Canadian Legion, Tom Eagles.
“From these beginnings the Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary, both nationally and locally, have come to represent the qualities and traditions which served our country so well for the past 90 years,” adds Eagles.
As part of this celebratory period the Dominion Executive Council (DEC) approved the design and distribution of a 90th anniversary medal that is approved for Legion members as well as members of the Ladies Auxiliary to wear beginning in June 2015.
Legion members wishing to purchase this commemorative medal, while supplies last, are invited to visit our online store: www.shop.legion.ca or by calling toll free to 888-301-2268.
