Legion Helps Thousands of Veterans with their Disability Claims Free of Charge

Feb 16, 2016

OTTAWA, ON, March 12th 2015 – More than 3,100 Veterans with disability claims sought the help of Legion Service Officers in 2014. While another 500 Veterans sought help from the Legion regarding their applications for the Veterans Independence Program (VIP) – all free of charge!

“The Royal Canadian Legion was formed by Veterans for Veterans and tens of thousands of Veterans, male or female, in this country have received some support and benefit through The Royal Canadian Legion,” says Dominion President Tom Eagles. “Helping ill or injured Veterans apply for compensation or to help them submit applications forms for the Veterans Independence Program is just one facet of the kind of work being done by the Legion every day,” adds Eagles.

“Helping our ill or injured Veterans through our Service Bureau Network6 is one more reason why joining the Legion is one of the best ways to help Veterans who, in many cases, have sacrificed so much for this nation and now find themselves asking for a hand-up and not a hand-out,’ says Eagles.
