A very special Ambassador for the 45th annual Legion Nationals

Canadian Veteran, para-athlete and Invictus Games athlete, Mike Trauner has been nominated as the first-ever Ambassador for the 45th annual Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships! His story, enthusiasm and presence will not only motivate the athletes participating in the event, but will inspire everyone in attendance, too.

Read his story and follow Mike on Facebook.

We are also taking this opportunity to help educate youth on Remembrance. You will see the 75th anniversary of Peacekeeping throughout the event and also on the medals.

Peacekeeping is part of Canada’s national identity. So it won’t be a surprise to learn that Canadian Veterans have served in UN peace operations around the world for 75 years. In all, more than 125,000 Canadians have served in UN peace operations, and 130 Veterans have died during these operations.
