The Royal Canadian Legion, a non-profit organization, is Canada’s largest Veteran support and community service organization. We have 275,000 members in 1400 branches across Canada as well as several in the United States, Europe and Mexico.
The communications manager plays a key role in planning and executing public relations strategies and tactics designed to enhance the Legion brand, building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, developing strategic messages across multiple platforms, and raising public awareness about the Legion’s programs, activities and policies. You will support the Dominion Secretary in providing liaison, training, guidance and assistance to provincial command public relations officers and other identified Legion spokespersons. You will help develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of public relations and marketing initiatives. You also will serve as the primary media contact and assist with media outreach.

While it is preferred that the successful candidate has military experience and/or prior experience (paid or volunteer) with a Legion branch, district, zone, or provincial command, the following mandatory requirements must be met:
- Fully bilingual (English and French)
- Public relations/communications diploma or degree
- Minimum eight years experience in public relations/corporate communications
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Advanced social media expertise
- Must meet Legion membership eligibility requirements
